Lagan's Foundation was set up in tribute to Lagan, a baby effected by complex congenital heart defects. Lagan experienced feeding difficulties, her condition dictating she should be fed every three to four hours, with each feed taking up to two hours. Sadly, after fifteen short weeks, Lagan passed away at 3.41am on 26th April 2011, and her parents resolved to do everything they could to help other parents in the same position.
The 24 hour a day routine put immense strain on Lagan's parents, and they found respite of any kind to be invaluable. Lagan's Foundation was set up to provide at home family support, enabling parents or carers to have a little bit of breathing space when things seem to be getting too much.
The branding for Lagan's Foundation was inspired by a painting of Lagan's name, the letters surrounded by animals. Colour, patterns and vibrant icons were created and used throughout to focus on the energy and positive stance of Lagan's Foundation. A bespoke typeface was also created, and all the animals depicted in Lagan's original painting were digitised.
When used together, all the brand assets create a positive, reassuring message to parents and carers in unfortunate circumstances.
